The remains of the mother of four children, 32-year-old Casei Jones, was found near Brantley County in Georgia from her husband's car. A few hours later, her four young children were found dead. The police are carrying out an investigation into the murders. The father also led investigators to the bodies of the children. The police report stated that the mother and her children: Cameron Bowers, 10, Preston Bowers, 5, Mercalli Jones, 2, and Aiyana Jones, 1, were last seen in Ocala, Florida, around 6 weeks ago. Jones' mother and her family became worried when she did not hear from her in several weeks.
They were finally reported missing on Saturday and authorities noted that they were considered endangered at that time, reports People. Casei’s mother, Nikki Jones, had pleaded for her daughter's safe return in an interview to a channel. "I’ve never ever been so scared. They don’t know where she’s at. They went to the house and she’s gone. The house is empty. Casei’s my baby. She was my last one. I don’t want nothing to happen to her,” she said. Talking about her grandchildren, Nikki said they were "my whole world" whilst adding that they were, "Just like my kids — I don’t know what I would do without any of them. I want them home. I want them home safe."
She further pleaded, "And if anybody knows anything please, please. I’m begging mothers all over the world, if you see my daughter and my grandkids to please be a mother and call the police." Soon after contacting the authorities, a picture of Jones' car, a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica was made public and police asked people to contact them for any information. Little would the family realize that they would never come back. Following the bodies being recovered, the Marion County's Sheriff's office held a press conference. Marion County Sheriff, Billy Woods said, "As a father, as a parent, it breaks my heart. As a sheriff, it angers me."
He explained how Jones' husband and the father of the 4 children, Michael Wayne Jones, Jr., was the key to uncovering the five murders. The Sheriff Office' took to their Facebook page, and wrote: On Saturday, September 14, the family of Casei Jones contacted the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to report her as missing. The post further highlighted how Jones' husband was considered a suspect. Detectives developed the victim’s husband, Michael Wayne Jones, Jr. (DOB: 5/1/1981), as a person of interest. On Sunday, September 15, Michael Wayne Jones, Jr. was located in Brantley County, Georgia, following a traffic accident.
The post added: Casei Jones’ remains were found in the vehicle that Michael Wayne Jones, Jr. was driving at the time of the accident. He later led detectives to the remains of four children. While the remains have not yet "been positively identified" the investigators are certain that they are those of the 4 missing children. Based upon the evidence located during the investigation and interviews with Michael Jones by Marion County Sheriff’s Office detectives, it is believed that Michael Wayne Jones, Jr. murdered the victims in Marion County, Florida, at their Summerfield home, located at 14680 SE 86th Terrace.
It is also believed that "Wayne stored the bodies at his home and in his van for several weeks before transporting them to Brantley County, Georgia." A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Jones' husband and he may face charges of Second Degree Murder in Marion County, Florida. Other charges are also forthcoming said the police.
